New Ghosts updated aims to improve Esports features.

The Call of Duty franchise has already proved to have a good spot on the Esports networks, with numerous teams coming from around the world to compete for pots of money and international fame. Call of Duty: Ghosts will continue this trend with a new update aimed at improving the Esports functionality in the game.

The upcoming update will introduce a number of improvements to the Esports features of Ghosts. Spawn issues will be addressed, as well as weapon balancing issues, plus hacking/cheating, which is always something to get fixed.
Activision has detailed the upcoming changes. Here they are:
Upcoming eSports plans
  • Restrict Ghillie suits in competitive rules.
  • Restrict Tracker Sights in competitive rules.
  • Restrict Danger Close in competitive rules.
  • Disable third-person spectating in competitive Private Matches.
  • Add a kill feed to Broadcaster mode.
  • Address Broadcaster mode stability (squash crash bugs).
Future eSports plans
Rules:
  • Removal of split-screen in Private match when eSports rules are enabled.
  • Add eSports rules to Clan vs. Clan playlist.
  • Open Clan v Clan playlist to allow solo player entry & mixed clan teams.
  • Modify Dead Silence/Amplify functionality.
  • S&D:
  • Resolve the defuse timer animation discrepancy.
  • Modify the defuse time sound effects if the defuse process is cancelled.
Broadcaster Mode:
  • Add game action overlays where needed (flag captures, etc.).
  • Resolve the leaderboard’s red death indicator delay.
  • Roll over player in scoreboard to highlight arrow in mini-map.
  • New Platform:
  • Investigating the addition of Xbox One LAN support.
The Esports world has been blowing up lately as members of the pro-gaming community have started earning rights like other athletes would. The prizes are growing larger and the fan community is as well. For now the Esports world can only go up. Call of Duty: Ghosts may not be the greatest of first-person shooters, but it works well in a competitive aspect, at least it shall when Infinity Ward and Activision fix the game some more.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is available now on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Wii U. The very first map pack DLC should be released soon, following by a few others throughout 2014.
